Chromium Oxide Green Powder Grinding Machine

15/10/2025 admin

Using the HGM Ultrafine Grinding Machine to process Chromium Oxide Green (Cr₂O₃) is an efficient way to achieve high fineness, uniform particle size distribution, and stable pigment quality, especially for paint, coating, and ceramic applications.

How to Use HGM Ultrafine Grinding Machine to Process Chromium Oxide Green

While chromium oxide green (Cr₂O₃) is already a stable pigment, further ultrafine grinding is often required to:

  1. Achieve fine particle size (D50 = 2–10 μm) for smooth surface finish in coatings or plastics.
  2. Improve color strength and dispersibility.
  3. Enhance opacity and tinting power.
  4. Increase compatibility in polymer or ceramic systems.

Process Flow of Cr₂O₃ Grinding Using HGM Ultrafine Mill Machine

Step 1: Pre-crushing

  • Raw chromium oxide green blocks or coarse powder are crushed by a jaw crusher or hammer crusher.
  • Particle size reduced to <10–20 mm to ensure smooth feeding.

Step 2: Feeding

  • Crushed material is fed by vibrating feeder or screw feeder into the HGM main unit.
  • Feed rate is controlled to maintain a steady grinding pressure.

Step 3: Grinding in HGM Ultrafine Mill Main Unit

  • Material is sheared and crushed by multiple grinding rollers and rings under high pressure.
  • Simultaneously, hot air (or temperature-controlled airflow) removes residual moisture and carries fine particles upward.

Step 4: Classification

  • Inside the mill, the built-in classifier wheel separates fine and coarse powder:
    • Fine powder meeting target fineness passes to the dust collector.
    • Coarse particles are returned to the grinding zone for regrinding.

Step 5: Collection

  • Qualified Cr₂O₃ ultrafine powder is collected by a pulse dust collector or cyclone separator.
  • Product is discharged through an automatic valve or screw conveyor into storage silos.

Key Advantages of HGM Ultrafine Mill Machine for Cr₂O₃ Processing

  • High Fineness & Uniformity – Adjustable from 325–3000 mesh with narrow PSD.
  • Low Contamination – Non-metallic liners reduce iron or foreign impurities.
  • Energy Efficient – Lower specific power than jet mill or ball mill for same fineness.
  • Closed System – Dust-free operation ensures clean environment and consistent color.
  • High Throughput – Suitable for continuous industrial pigment production.
  • Stable Operation – Automatic PLC control for feed rate, classifier speed, and temperature.
